UpToDate® Releases Downloadable Local iPhone App
UpToDate MobileComplete™ Provides iPhone Users with Fast Local Access to Trusted, Evidence-Based Clinical Knowledge
Waltham, Mass. (December 7, 2011) – Building on the success of its debut mobile application, UpToDate, a Wolters Kluwer Health company, has released a downloadable local version of its iPhone App, UpToDate MobileComplete. The fastest mobile version of UpToDate, MobileComplete provides clinicians with access to evidence-based, practical recommendations — even offline, where there is no network connection (Wi-Fi connection required for initial download and new version updates).
“Much of my time is spent in the hospital setting without reliable cellular/network coverage. MobileComplete allows me to quickly access full UpToDate content from my mobile device wherever I am, and whenever I need it,” said Dr. Mitch Ross, UpToDate Subscriber
Since the launch of UpToDate Mobile in July 2011, more than 42,000 clinicians have downloaded the mobile application for iPhone. The on-demand application allows physicians and clinicians to search UpToDate’s extensive clinical content from an iPhone using a network connection.
With UpToDate MobileComplete, clinicians can access the clinical knowledge contained within the UpToDate database locally, without a persistent network connection. To ensure users access the most current recommendations, the App will verify that requested content is the most recent when a network connection is present.
“UpToDate MobileComplete furthers our mission of improving medical care by providing clinicians with evidence-based recommendations for clinical care whenever and wherever they need them,” said Denise S. Basow, M.D., President and Editor-in-Chief, UpToDate.
UpToDate is widely accepted by more than 450,000 clinicians worldwide for its ability to improve health outcomes by providing current, comprehensive clinical knowledge, including treatment recommendations based on the best medical evidence. Created by more than 4,800 editors, authors and peer reviewers from leading medical institutions, UpToDate hand-searches more than 460 journals to ensure that the most recent information and findings are incorporated into the content.
