New Health Language Solution Enables Accurate and Efficient Capture of Diagnosis Codes throughout the Continuum of Care
DENVER – Aug. 8, 2014 – Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that it will demonstrate its new Provider Search Assistant in booth #607 during the Siemens Innovations ’14 for Healthcare IT meeting taking place in Tampa, FL, August 10-13, 2014.
Built using cloud-based technology, the Health Language® Provider Search Assistant (PSA) is a simple, browser-based diagnosis search tool that can be seamlessly integrated into leading third-party clinical and financial systems. PSA enables healthcare professionals to quickly find diagnosis codes (ICD-9 and ICD-10) using familiar search terms such as “afib,” “ank fx,” or “elevated BP,” or known ICD codes. To capture the increased specificity of ICD-10, PSA prompts for additional information such as laterality, site or time course.
“We’ve been collaborating with healthcare professionals and leading IT vendors to identify opportunities to streamline point of care workflows,” said Brian McDonald, Vice President, Health Language, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions. “PSA helps clients quickly and accurately capture diagnosis codes, minimizing denials and easing the transition to ICD-10.”
