Wolters Kluwer and MemorialCare Data Experts to Discuss Role of Code Groups in Analytics at Health Data Management Webinar
The Health division of Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today that medical informatics experts from Health Language® will join Dan Exley, Executive Director, Data Strategy and Reporting at MemorialCare, to discuss the use of code groups for cohort identification in population health management and analytics. The discussion will take place during a complimentary Health Data Management webinar titled “Code Groups: Building blocks for your analytics initiatives” on September 16 at 2 p.m. EDT.
Joining Exley on the panel are Health Language team members Dr. Barbara Antuna, Medical Informatics Specialist, and Sarah Bryan, Director of Product Management for Terminology. Dr. Antuna is a practicing emergency medicine physician and is board-certified in Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). Bryan delivers terminology management solutions to providers, payers, HIEs, and health IT vendors, to enable interoperability through effective utilization of standard terminologies.
Enterprise-wide management of code groups, also known as value sets, will be a requirement for organizations that embrace forward-thinking initiatives such as population health and analytics, meaningful use, accountable care and health information exchange. Exley will provide attendees with insights into how MemorialCare is leveraging code groups for cohort identification, ensuring a single source of truth for clinical alignment and standards compliance.
The panel will also discuss challenges with maintaining and governing code sets, and the benefits of centralizing access, authoring, and maintenance of code groups across an enterprise. Insights will also be provided into how to maintain a set of current, approved, up-to-date content.
The program has been approved for up to 1 continuing education (CE) hour for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) and Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS).
